Panic guide

Hector Javkin , Sep 06, 2010; 09:04 a.m.

It would be great to have a guide for photographers in a panic, quick answers giving the first steps to take for anyone who has just erased a data card, dropped equipment in water, had the bride or groom run away before the ceremony is completed, etc. I know there are many things to do, but it would be very helpful for someone in trouble.

Best regards.

Hector,

I was able to find postings related to each of your examples by simply using the search box function in the upper right corner of the page. It works well and I use it often. It does not guaranty me the correct answer but it is a starting point. However when one is in panic mode they might not be as rational as they might be normally, so your idea has merit in that a subsection of "validated" responses to common emergency type photography situations could be useful. I suspect that it might take a lot of work from the PNet side as they would need to vet out the best one or two answers to each type of event.

Problem is people just don't find and read these things. Take stickies on tip of forums. People pass right by them and ask the questions instead. People tend to be even worse at searching when they're in a bit of a dither...
