From September 30th to October 6th the Shinjuku Nikon
Salon
JUNA 21 gallery will be exhibiting a portfolio of mine
entitled "Gaijin Like Me".
Since moving here I found myself getting this certain stare from other white foreign men in the trains and out in the street. After a while I
just countered by staring back with my camera and getting a picture. Rather than simply being about individual people, the show deals
with this phenomenon.
The Japanese press release can be found here.
In case you are not willing or able to make it, 15 of the 30+
pictures in the exhibition can be seen here.
More information about the show and exhibiting in Tokyo can be found on my blog.

Bit of a long trip for me, but I really like the idea behind this exhibition. Thank you for the preview, they're good.

It's nice of you to put up a free preview before the actual exhibit (technically speaking... it's 1AM here in Tokyo). もし天気が良かったら、土曜日に行きます。I'm sure you understood that.

John,
Congratulations. It is too bad that I will miss your show. I will be in Tokyo from 10/24-10/28, and then I will go to Yonago for 2 weeks. I have lived in US for 38 years and I am becoming Gaijin, too....Toshio

Good one John. I recognize many of the places if not the people. I'll make a point of going this week as it's pretty near where I live.

Thanks-
It's been interesting so far. The Nikon Salon is few galleries in Tokyo that one does not have to spend $1000+ to rent for 7
days. Gets some good traffic too. I am supposed to give a talk on Saturday from 1pm, so I might see you there.

Best of luck on this exhibit, John.
I'd like to see the balance of the photos if you ultimately post them.

Sorry I missed this as I was in the neighborhood most of last week.
