My Nikon P300 shoots video 1920x1080 but always has a little black spot in the center of the clip. This looks like dust on a sensor on a still image but the black sport does NOT show on still images.
Does anyone know what this is from and how I can get rid of the black spot?

Does the camera have a B mode that holds the shutter open, and can you somehow look through the lens to see if there is anything on the sensor? I'd be interested in your thoughts on this camera, as I've been looking at buying one (though I read they just released the P310 today). Are the images as good as the ones Nikon always show?

Michael, I don't believe there is a B mode but I don't think dust on the sensor is the issue as the black spot does not show up on still images. Thus, this problem must have something to do with the video function. The black spot is also always in one spot and is perfectly round.
I contacted Nikon by phone yesterday and actually received great service with a rep walking me through there current tech service where I posted a sample video with black spot. I am awaiting an email response.
I bought this camera strictly for video usage so I can't comment on the still image quality but I will say that the few times I have used it for stills I was not too impressed.
