Need NYC wedding photographer recommendation

Robert K , Mar 09, 2010; 08:03 a.m.

A NYC friend asked me if I can recommend a photographer for her wedding. Since I'm an amateur who don't shoot weddings, and do not live close by NYC, I thought I may get some help here. If this is against the forum policy, please let me know.
Here are some info that may be of help. The couple is in their late 20s, both professionals with moderate incomes. The wedding will be at a Brooklyn church, followed by a reception at Staten Island. About ~100 guests. Mid August, this year.
She sent me a couple links of photographers she is considering. If appropriate, I can post them here.

Moderator Note: Robert--the post itself is fine. Not sure what would be accomplished by posting photographers the bride is considering, so I would suggest you leave those off.

Perhaps knowing who else she's considering gives some idea as to style she prefers or can help make clear to bidding photographers the areas they can emphasize their differences from those photographers and what they have to offer as their strengths.
I recommend myself and my team. You can see my link on my account page by clicking on my name above my post.

G.E.--OK, but that might be a private conversation later, perhaps with Robert. I see a thread such as this as a general collection of possibilities. By the way, Robert, you can contact G.E. by clicking on his name. There is a facility for e-mailing him.

Suggest Andy Marcus studio :-)

Gee, I kinda thought maybe the couple of links of photographers she's considering was mine and Andy's...

Maybe they are.

Nadine, thanks for accepting my post. My friend is actually the daughter of a life long friend. She was my first "model" when six years old, and has always known me as a photographer! hence her question. I think I'll print a few from the archive as a wedding gift.
After years, her SO popped the question out of the blue a couple of months ago. I'm sure they are scrambling like crazy, and the two photogs she sent me are most likely based on availability, etc. instead of taste. From their sites, one impressed me over the other by a long shot, and I told her so. But that's from a photog's eyes, and it's not all about the images when it comes to shooting a wedding :-)
I'll check out the sites posted here, and those who e-mailed me directly.
Thanks.
