What online client viewing gallery do you LOVE? and why?

Sarah Cross , Mar 27, 2010; 10:59 a.m.

Searching for an online viewing/shopping gallery that works best for me. I'll be shooting weddings, events and etc. And would also love to showcase some general images for purchase. Ideally to customize it to match the rest of my website (still to be built).
What experiences have you had with smugmug, pictage, and others? I'll of course be doing my own research AND would love some suggestions.

I've had good experience with smugmug. A quick search on this topic will provide plenty of threads for viewing.

Sorry, I don't use any of them. It doesn't do justice to the photographs I make. I have a short slide show on my web site but that's all. So many things out of control, one example is the color rendition of the viewers screen. I can hear them say, from work or at the coffee shop with the sun blasting light on the screen, "Yikes look at those photos! Must be the photographer." Temperature varies all over the place.
Just my thoughts.

If you haven't gotten a website yet, a great one to work with is photobiz.com. I bought my website through them and it's specially for photographers. It comes with a client viewing gallery with the password protection and everything. Look into it. It's pretty cool. My website is www.brennalarsonphotography.com. I don't know if they let you post your own website on a forum but just so you can see what it looks like. You can personalize color, fonts, size, templates and everything.

Moderator Note: Brenna, posting one's own website often is against forum guidelines. You should have your website posted on your home/personal page, which is easily accessible to anyone by clicking on your name. When using your website as an example, please refer people to your member page.

I have used SmugMug for months, but am changing over to Zenfolio. There's nothing wrong with SmugMug, but I'm getting the same functions for less per year, plus some additional ease-of-use considerations with Zenfolio. I am keeping the SmugMug account open until it expires though, just in case I don't have the same success with Zenfolio when it comes to the print ordering process.

We are using smugmug right now. For anyone else using them, how do you link your clients to your galleries? On most websites I see client gallery link, and they type in their code/last name etc and it takes them right to their pictures from the main website. How do you do that? lol Thanks.
PS - I can make a new post for this if I need to.

Loving zenfolio. Their rates are great and the comission they take is much less than others if you are having people use the lab feature as well. It has nice slide show features and they just added music capabilities.

I'd have to agree with Vail, I love zenfolio. They are very affordable, and they are constantly adding new features and trying to improve their service. They have changed quite a bit since I started using them about a year ago. It's much more brandable now, very configurable, never had a problem with print orders, I can customize it to look pretty close to my tastes. They also use Mpix as a partner and I'm very happy with that lab, they have alot of products that you can offer to your clients.
